Johanna Ferreira is a trailblazing journalist, editor, and digital strategist, widely recognized as one of the most authoritative voices in the Latine media space. With over 12 years of experience in journalism and media, she has dedicated her career to shaping narratives around Latine identity, culture, race, and representation. Currently, Johanna serves as the Content Director of Juntos, POPSUGAR’s vertical dedicated to storytelling by and for Latines, overseeing editorial and social content that amplifies the diverse experiences within the community. She also co-leads Vox’s Latine ERG group, Mi Gente, closely working with the company’s DEI team.
Previously, she was the Deputy Editor of HipLatina, where she led groundbreaking reporting on culture and identity.
Johanna’s insightful storytelling and cultural criticism have been featured in top-tier publications including Oprah Daily, Allure, Refinery29, Travel + Leisure, Well + Good, The Americano, and Mitú, among others. Johanna’s influence extends beyond journalism — she collaborates with leading beauty, wellness, and lifestyle brands as a content creator and brand partner with past collaborations including Lysol, Ulta Beauty, Nole and Recovery Mode. Her commitment to wellness and storytelling also led her to co-produce the podcast The Truth Report with Kamari Chelsea, where they engage in unfiltered discussions on race, spirituality, sexuality, and cultural issues. Additionally, in 2020, she launched Cafecito Con Jo, an IG Live interview series featuring Latine experts and voices across various fields.
When she’s not writing or leading creative projects, Johanna can be found cooking, hosting intimate potluck dinners for Latine creatives, reading, or diving deep into biohacking and wellness. A proud native New Yorker based in Queens, Johanna is available for editorial and branded projects, hosting, moderating, and modeling opportunities.
